The new building of the Gebhard-Mueller-School, a vocational school center in Biberach, Germany, is planned and built as a lowest energy building (“2-liter-building”). The achievement of the planning goals (undershooting requirements of the EnEV of more than 40%) is to be examined and the operational behaviour of the building is to be optimized by a measuring and evaluation program in the first operational years. This is supported both by the owner and the planners involved and is done within SolarBau:Monitor research programme.
