Our Profile
The Institute of the Built Environment was founded in September 2004. It is commited to a high standard of applied research and education in architecture. We are concerned with the idea of interdisciplinary work in kooperation with other departments at our University as well as with other Universities and private enterprises. Our research projects and design courses are related to up-to-date subjects of architecture and urban planning.
One of our major topics is the impact of social change in society on the requirements of design and spacial structures. For a successful architectural work it is essencial to recognize the relation between social and culural aspects and spacial design. The field of environment and behavior concernes social needs, in which people meet, learn, work or spend their leisure time. The spacial environment has great impact to the chances of personal development, well-beeing and healthcare.
Applied research, services and research-oriented teaching testify to the productivity and motivation of the IPG. |
