Lending collections at the Hubertus-Liebrecht-Straße branch are marked with the identification code pbt (in small caps) at the end of the book number. Non-lending collections are marked with PBT in capitals at the end of the book number.

Self-service functions in the online catalogue
|
The self-service functions on PC are performed via HORIZON, the local system of the scientific libraries of Baden-Wurttemberg. In order to request an account, extend a book loan, search for and reserve books, click on the “My Account” point in the online catalogue. In the interface you are asked for an account number and password. For students their ID card number is their account number - including all the zeros. Their date of birth (DDMMYYYY) is pre-set as the password. External users and people employed at the University of Applied Sciences enter their library card ID number in both fields.
All users are recommended to set their own password. (Once you have accessed your user account, the "Password” function becomes visible.) |
Regulations on the usage and charges of the library

People can use the library even if they are not a member of the University of Applied Sciences. In order to take out your first book please bring your personal ID card with you. External users pay a one-off charge of 10 Euros for their library card.
The borrowing period is 28 days. As longs as books have not been reserved, the borrowing period can be extended a maximum of five times. The extension can also be made by telephone, e-mail or using the self-service functions of the online catalogue on the internet.

Group working rooms at the University of Applied Sciences
|
70 reading and working places are available in the library. These individual work places are situated in the reading area and on the ground floor and are equipped with WLAN. As a result you can work with your own laptops in these areas. Furthermore the library offers you 6 research places for literature searches. They are on the ground floor and on the basement of the library. The premises of the library are not to be used for free working groups and project groups! The Biberach University of Applied Sciences provides the following premises for working and project groups.
Note for free working groups and project groups: All rooms are equipped with WLAN.
• House A - old art room / room A 1.2
• House E – free area on the 1st floor / room E 1.05 • Other free areas of the cafeteria / B 2.03
• House L - Pavilion / rooms reserved for project groups, bookings can be made with Secretary AStA Ms. Schneider. Approx. 10 rooms which can be booked
• House C – new art room (only for architecture students) / room C 4.02 |
