About the programme
Every year, the Energy Engineering department at Biberach University of Applied Sciences organises the two-week Short-Term Exchange Programme with its partner university, the Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
Taking part in this short-term programme, students shall get a first impression of studying and living abroad in order to consider a long-term stay abroad during their future studies.

The short-term exchange programme takes place each autumn and spring:
In return, before the start of the summer semester, students from Biberach University of Applied Sciences visit their partner students in Finland and Sweden.
During the first week, an English lectures is given and lab work is carried out. During week two, all students take part in an excursion providing an insight into engineering related topics in Germany and Switzerland.
A similar programme is offered by the partner universities in Finland and Sweden.
Private accomodation - the participating students accomodate each other. Thus, students experience life close to their guest students and costs for accomodation can be avoided.
Recognition & ECTS credits
Students from Biberach University of Applied Sciences receive 4 ECTS in total for their participation in September and February/March, applicable for:
- Studium Generale
- English Lecture (students studying the Bachelor International).
Interested students submit their English application including
- Letter of motivation indicating preferred destination
(Finland or Sweden)
- Declaration of the willingness to accomodate a male and/or
female guest student
- Detailed CV
- Transcript of records
- Certificate of enrolment
- University entrance certificate
