About the programme
Every year, the Energy Engineering department at Biberach University of Applied Sciences organises the Summer School Programme. Target group are students studying Energy Engineering in their second and third semester at Biberach University of Applied Sciences and students from our partner universities, the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Canada and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the USA.
Taking part in this short-term programme, students from Biberach University of Applied Sciences shall get a first impression of English lectures and get in contact with our guest students. Students from Canada and the USA shall get an impression of studying at Biberach University of Applied Sciences in order to consider a long-term stay, e. g. for research work or for a Bachelor's or Master's thesis at the Institute for Building- and Energy Systems at Biberach University of Applied Sciences.
Schedule & dates
The summer school programme takes place every year in May:
During the first week, English lectures are given and lab work is carried out. During the second week, students from abroad and their professors go on a round trip to several companies and sights in the South of Germany and Switzerland. The guest students and their professors are accompanied by German professors as well as by German students who already gained international study experience.
Private accomodation for guest students possible as far as private accomodation places are available. Thus, students from Canada and the USA experience life close to their guest students and costs for accomodation are very low.
Recognition & ECTS credits
Students from Biberach University of Applied Sciences receive 2 ECTS in total for their participation in week 1, chargeable for:
- Studium Generale
- English Lecture (students studying the Bachelor International).
