That's what our Exchange Students say
„Mein Aufenthalt in Biberach war eine wunderschöne Erfahrung. Ich habe viel über die deutsche Kultur gelernt, auch über andere Kulturen wie die jordanische, französische, argentinische und finnische. In diesem Jahr habe ich auch viel über mich gelernt."
-- Mariana Vargas Mondragón (Mexiko)
"Study in Germany was not a big issue regard to the "German system". The university was small, everybody knew each other, that was interesting. Classes took place in classrooms full equipped for the purpose and very nice!"
"Food, god, I loved it! I think I get an addiction to Haribo, Maultaschen and Käsespätzle… bakeries full of pastries. Cooking was the main social activity, especially during winter time."
-- Nestor Jesus Nahas (Argentinien)
"I consider my stay in Biberach, as the most exciting experience I have ever made."
-- Hector Parra Rodriguez (Mexiko)

The following three check lists will help you to organize your stay in Germany prior your arrival, during your arrival and your departure.
The International Office of Biberach University assists you in finding a furnished room in the hall of residence or in a shared apartment. As all Internationals will have a Mentor, they are also willing to help.
For a better orientation you find a campus map here.

What is the Mentor-Mentee-Program?
The program's goal is to enable German and foreign Biberach University students to meet and exchange culture, language and experiences. The International Office matches pairs of one exchange and one German student of Biberach University. German students taking part in the program help on a voluntary basis. What is a Mentor/Mentee?
The German student is responsible for supporting the exchange student in the first weeks after his/her arrival in Biberach. Common tasks are for example the pick-up from the train station and help to get along in Biberach after arrival.
Usually, the German student prepares a study semester abroad or has already returned from such a stay and this way stays in touch with his/her former host country. The matching of mentor and mentee will be on the basis of individual priorities such as gender, language, origin and field of study.
How do I get a Mentor?
A mentor will be assigned once the exchange student sent his/her application to Biberach University and is accepted. The mentor will get in touch with the mentee before the mentee arrives in Biberach. This way both have the opportunity to get to know each other and to prepare the mentee's arrival in Biberach.
Exchange students are asked to fill in the feed back paper by the end of their stay. Please return it to the International Office.
Health insurance is compulsory for all students in Germany. If you'd like to immatriculate at a German university you need to show proof of insurance. Health insurance from abroad, especially travel insurance cannot be considered! In cases of illness, cover from a German statutory health insurance provider guarantees straightforward, free treatment for students. The cost for statutory health insurance is about EUR 80 incl. nursing care insurance. In Germany nursing care insurance is compulsory for all persons covered by health insurance. The objective of nursing care insurance is to cover the social risk of long-term nursing care, which may become necessary after major accidents, through desease or in old age.
Exeptional case: students studying more than 14 semesters or students are already over 30 years old will be covered by private health insurance.
Important: the fee will be deducted from your account until the end of each semester (winter - end February and summer - end September)
Semester Contribution to Student Services
