Going abroad is an investment in your future – and scholarships can help make it possible. Our International Office provides information on a variety of funding opportunities that support you with travel or living expenses. With the right scholarship, you can focus on what really matters: gaining international experience, developing new skills, and making the most of your time abroad.

Enriching lives, opening minds

The Erasmus+ program is the European Union’s flagship initiative to support education, training, youth, and sport across Europe and worldwide. Its main goals are to promote mobility, strengthen international cooperation, and foster diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and equal opportunities. Erasmus+ helps students gain international experience, intercultural skills, and professional qualifications that are highly valued in today’s global job market.

Erasmus+ KA131 – Mobility within Europe

With KA131, students can complete a study semester or internship at one of our Erasmus+ partner universities across Europe. Erasmus+ not only provides financial support but also ensures recognition of your academic achievements abroad. The monthly grant amount depends on the destination country and the specific Erasmus call used to fund the mobility.

Erasmus+ KA171 – Mobility beyond Europe

Through KA171, HBC supports student exchanges with selected partner institutions outside Europe:

  • Chile: incoming and outgoing students
  • Argentina: incoming students
  • Vietnam: incoming students

This makes it possible to cover living costs abroad and fully focus on your academic and cultural experience. The monthly grant amount depends on the destination country and the specific Erasmus call used to fund the mobility.

Support for All Students

Erasmus+ is committed to making mobility possible for everyone. Therefore, additional top-ups are available for students with fewer opportunities, for example students with children, chronic illnesses, or disabilities. The program also promotes real-cost funding where higher expenses need to be covered. In addition, Erasmus+ strongly supports sustainable mobility, for example by offering extra funding if you choose environmentally friendly travel options such as train journeys. In this way, Erasmus+ ensures that sustainability, diversity and inclusion are at the heart of international mobility.

Co-funded by the European Union

The Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM is a scholarship program offered by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung that supports the international exchange of highly qualified students. It provides funding both for students from Baden-Württemberg who wish to study abroad, and for international exchange students who come to study at a university in Baden-Württemberg for a limited period of time.

Besides the financial support, the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM also helps students develop professional, social, and intercultural skills. In addition, all scholarship holders become part of the global Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM network, a community that offers valuable contacts and support far beyond the study stay itself. It is a unique opportunity to enrich your academic journey, broaden your horizons, and gain experience that will last a lifetime!

At HBC, the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM supports outgoing students who want to study at one of our partner universities outside Europe (excluding Southeast Asia), as well as incoming exchange students from non-European partner universities who spend a semester with us at HBC.

Funding is available

  • for 3 to 11 months,
  • with a monthly grant ranging from 600€ to 1.400€.
